The 414 grants awarded in fiscal year 2007 show the scope of the CarMax Foundation's influence and CarMax's commitment to community involvement, whether as a Company or through the individual efforts of its Associates.
In FY 2007, giving by the CarMax Foundation rose to nearly $1.3 million. This includes $11,500 in donations as part of team-building volunteer opportunities where 23 teams of CarMax Associates helped their communities with service projects.
Since 2003, the CarMax Foundation has invested more than $4 million in the communities we serve through volunteers, matching gifts, grants, and disaster relief.

Our Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of the CarMax Foundation is comprised of six senior managers of CarMax Auto Superstores, Inc. Our Board meets quarterly in the months of March, June, September, and December, to carefully review grant proposals.
