The CarMax Foundation was established in 2003 to support the communities where our Associates live and work. Over the past several years, we’ve accomplished our goal by providing volunteers, matching gifts, grants, and disaster relief to worthy nonprofit organizations.

CarMax Associates really do make a difference. With help from the CarMax Foundation, we’ll continue to support our mission and your community.

By providing grants to nonprofit organizations, the CarMax Foundation is able to extend its reach. Nationwide, we help make America’s roads safer by supporting automobile safety and education programs. On a local level, our focus is on supporting youth leadership and education programs.

	Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a national fundraising walk sponsored annually by the American Cancer Society. The money raised funds breast cancer research, education, advocacy, and provides free programming in several communities. Fundraising walks, like Making Strides, are popular team builders for CarMax because they connect Associates, their families, and friends to a good cause. On October 21, 2007, nearly 250 walkers in “CarMax Cares” t-shirts convened to represent six Chicago CarMax stores in the walk. Personal donations, matching gifts, and a grant from the CarMax Foundation contributed to the total $900,000 raised in Chicago. You, too, can get involved.
