Shake-A-Leg Miami

In 2008, the CarMax Florida Regional Giving Program gave $25,000 to Shake-A-Leg-Miami, an organization that works with children and adults with physical, developmental and economic challenges to instill confidence and skills through boating and other water-related activities.

In addition, a team from CarMax International Mall in Miami banded together to help Shake-A-Leg Miami. clean boats, wax kayaks, and help christen the program's newest sailboat, complete with a "CarMax" sail!

Management Assistant Ester Tedesco, shared her experience at the team-builder event, "I never knew blind children would be able to sail, or young people in wheelchairs would kayak. These children didn't even know they could swim. But at Shake-A-Leg Miami, anything is possible."
