Business Office Associate

Business Office Associates handle a wide variety of functions, but they have one focus: delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers. Other responsibilities include processing documents associated with customer vehicle purchases, assisting customers with questions on tag and title information and processing title transfers, completing DMV paperwork, assisting our purchasing team with in-store auctions, handling accounts payable functions, tendering cash transactions, and preparing bank deposits. We offer both full- and part-time positions and no previous automotive experience is required.

Lead Business Office Associate

This hourly position is responsible for leading a team of full- and part-time Business Office Associates. Other responsibilities include processing documents associated with customer's vehicle purchases, assisting customers with questions on tag and title information and processing title transfers, completing DMV paperwork, assisting our purchasing team with in-store auctions, handling accounts payable functions, tendering cash transactions, and preparing bank deposits. In addition, Lead Business Office Associates take on supervisory functions in the absence of the managers.

Business Management Trainee

This is a four-month training position to prepare an individual for an Assistant Business Office Manager position. This extensive training program combines self-paced study and on-the-job training.

Requirements include 2+ years retail management experience with proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop Associates. Excellent followup skills and commitment to providing superior customer service are required, and the candidate must be highly organized, efficient, and process-oriented. The ability to train in another market and/or relocate is also required.

Assistant Business Office Manager

Our Assistant Business Office Managers are responsible for assisting in the management and operation of one of our fast-paced business offices and directly supervising a team of 15-20 Associates. Business office functions include processing critical paperwork, DMV and title management, warranties, accounts payable, and cash office administration. Other managerial responsibilities include the recruiting, hiring, scheduling, training, and developing of all hourly Associates, handling performance issues, ensuring adherence to procedures, resolving customer service issues, preparing and presenting reports, and attending meetings with store management. This position is filled internally by a Business Manager Trainee or a successful Lead Business Office Associate.

CarMax Business Office Managers are responsible for the management and operation of one of our fast-paced business offices and directly supervising a team of 15-20 Associates. Other managerial responsibilities include the recruiting, hiring, scheduling, training, and developing of all hourly Associates, handling performance issues, ensuring adherence to procedures, resolving customer service issues, preparing and presenting reports, and attending meetings with store management. This position is filled internally by a successful Assistant Business Office Manager.

Regional Business Office Director

This position is responsible for overseeing the operations of all business offices within a given geographical region, and requires extensive travel to all stores within the region. Primary responsibilities include maintaining consistency and accuracy in policies and procedures, training and development, staff planning, and communicating with other regional and corporate managers. This position requires extensive travel to all stores within the region and is filled internally by a successful Business Office Manager.
