"Just an expensive Toyota Camry???",

"Don't get me wrong, I really do like my Lexus ES 300. I saved for about 18 months to have a signifigant down payment($8000) to drop on this car. The title of my review is "just an expensive Camry??", and here's why I say that.... Hopefully we all know that Lexus is owned and manufactured by Toyota, so one shoud expect similarities between the 2 lines of vehicles. Interior-wise, the car has a little more leather, and a little more wood-grain accents than the high-end Camry. I have navigation in my ES 300, but have been told that navigation is available in the top of the line Camry, but I haven't seen any with it yet. The only other difference is the standard V6 in the ES 300, versus it being an upgradable option for a couple of the Camry models, but truly thats about all I can see. Bottom line, I chose the Lexus over the Camry because I am 29, and wanted to pull up to work in a nice ride, with a little class. The Camry has class, but the Lexus says more, usually being reserved for those at my workplace with "reserved" parking spots(i.e. upper management), if you get my drift... If you have an extra $8-10k to spend, then by all means go get the Lexus over the Camry. Having the opportunity to do all over again, I probably would still get my Lexus over the less expensive Camry, even though they are almost identical. Finally, this car is an '03 with about 55,000 miles on it, and has been extremely reliable and problem free. Maintenance wise, you just can't beat Toyota, Honda, or Nissan, in my opinion. They have virtually zero problems until well over 100,000 miles. I hope to get around 150/160,000 out of my Lexus before getting a 2011 model. Go test drive one. It's worth it."

"I've had my 2003 Lexus ES 300 for a little over a year now and it has given me zero problems. I did a lot of research before going with this vehicle, and that research served me well.
This is a very refined automobile. Great quality in fit and finish, very plushy interior, nice wood trim, large comfortable seats wtih plenty of room(I'm 6'1") Quiet cabin, silky smooth ride quality, tests very well in reliability, safety, etc. While subjective I feel the car has beautiful lines, I get looks/compliments all the time.
The only negatives I could find is it being a bit underpowered for the size/weight of the vehicle at only 210hp. Gets the job done, but could be stronger there. I thought the mileage could be a bit better too, I average about 20mpg(premium fuel not fun either)
Do your research, and you'll find this is an all around performer that rates high in almost every category."
