"This is definitely a vehicle that will entice your senses, comfortably whisk you around town, and eat-up the highway. As an owner of several BMWs (e28 528e, e28 533i, e34 525i, e34 535i, e39 540i and now a e60 530i), I must say that in each iteration, BMW has remained consistent in all that they do.
Performance and luxury intertwined to ensure that you have what you need to get the job done....yet, more importantly, that you feel as intergral with the vehicle as your fingernail does to your finger.
Why buy a Mercedes-Benz, (which I do have as well), when you feel neglected...it is so finicky...so overly "gadgetized" that it forgets that "hey, there is a driver too!". My point is that the BMW is a driver's vehicle, and it provides luxury to the passengers as well. But face it, you bought the car to drive it...you want to feel like you are doing just that....not falling asleep behind the wheel.
Objectively, the car has great power, road feel, and controls. The I-drive performs quickly, and is intuitive, even if you have never worked one before. I love that the Navigation stays up when I return to the vehicle, vs. having to always scroll back through and select it like on my S-class. Once again, BMW has made it happen. You cannot go wrong with a BMW...unless of course, you don't buy one."
