Rabbit still hopping along...,

"I purchased a 2007 VW Rabbit in November of 2007. I've had it for almost a year now and couldn't be happier with my decision. The Rabbit has a fun, unique and practical design that picks up where the Golf left off.
It has great pick-up, coming in handy during zippy lane changes and highway merges. I can also speak for it's comfort, as I took it on a road trip from Colorado to Washington. My 6' 7" boyfriend fits comfortably in it, with plenty of leg and head room.
The heated seats come in handy for the winter, as do the side view mirror defrosters. Speaking of inclement weather, the Rabbit performs better than I expected. Living in Colorado, my Rabbit has survived snow and ice quite well, thanks to the front-wheel drive and anti-spin control features. It also held up well during the bouts of rain we faced whilst traveling in Oregon and Washington.
I have the 4-door model and am happy with the amount of space. I now have the convenience of 4 doors, while still driving around in a moderately compact car.
There's great storage space all around. There's even extra cup holder spaces hiding on the inside of the driver and passenger doors (in addition to the regular cup holders).
The blue and red lighting on the dash makes for a unique and somewhat intoxicating display when driving at night.
During the aforementioned road trip, I was able to get about 35-36 mpg on the highway when closer to sea-level. Driving around at home in Colorado, I average about 30-32 mpg on the highway and about 27-30 in the city. These numbers are a bit higher than what VW advertises. Not a bad thing! (I have the auto transmission as well.)
All in all, I love my car. I do kind of wished that I would've held out for the 2008 model (comes with a few more standard fancy features), but I've been perfectly happy with my model and it really has made driving fun again. I considered other hatchbacks (Nissan, Toyota and Mazda), but my heart fell for the VW. I've always loved their hatchback designs and appreciate their quality."
