Execellent Value, November 23, 2009

"I am completely satisfied with this car in every way. I was lucky enough to find one with only 2300 miles and one previous individual owner so it is virtually new. I drove it on the highway last weekend and got almost 32 mpg. Yet engine is powerful with great pickup. Very comfortable. I am 6'3' and have driven SUV's for the last 15 years but am very comfortable in this car."

Avalon's Nav System is Inferior, January 13, 2009

"Our 2008 Avalon is an excellent cae and we have been satisfied in every respect except one very notable exception: the navigation system. The user interface of the Avalon is annoying and very hard to use. It takes a good amount of studying to learn how to use it at all. The first indication of this is when you notice that it uses a "joystick" in leiu of a touch screen. The feature comes at an outrageous price and has a design that seems far less advanced than any $200 navigation system one can buy at Radio Shack. My 2008 map CD is out of date and the new updated CD costs $265. The fact that it even uses a CD is disapointing. Most of the modern GPS devices use a small plug-in memory chip that can be updated on-line for about $45. The Toyota system also chooses to play nanny by prohibiting anyone from changing the destination unless the car is at a complete stop."

Wonderful price for wonderful ride, January 4, 2009

"I have owned my 2008 Toyota Avalon Touring Edition for about 3 months and it has been pleasurable. It has the power that you expect when you push on the gas pedal, it also has a large amount of room in the interior and that is exactly what my family requires because we are over 6 feet tall. CONS: The paint job on it is one of the things I do not care for because the paint should be higher in quality, it seems that it will crack in less than a year. The spoiler was also screwed on too tight so it caused two dents on the top of it."
