2009 Hyundai Genesis V6 Sedan, January 31, 2010

"Bought it in May '09. Love all aspects of car, but as reported by "rocketdog" of Silver Springs,MD (9/9/09), am experiencing the same metallic "clunking or gurgling" from the transmission. Started at about 3,000 miles, and now at close to 6,000, is worse and very annoying. Certainly not expected from a car of the Genesis quality. My Area Rep, too, says it is "normal" for a rear-drive car. I also am being stiffed by my Dealer who will not even look at the car in the shop.

I'm not giving up on this fight!"

"Adding to my review of May, the transmission has an abnormal metallic clunking and slapping noise. this has caused the rear end to have some gear play and gear whine. Dealer miss informed me as to cure. Hyundai factory tech had no answers and Hyundai customer service has STIFFED ME. There are no parts or adjustments for the electronic transmission. Dealer’s service manger and Hyundai tech drove a new in stock car and told me this normal for rear drive cars.
Limited warranty on most electronic items. There is no timer on the front window defoggers. Windshield washers only spray lower part of windshield. Driver and passenger seats need to have the same features. Sunlight blocks out nav system and rear backup camera. Need larger sun visors with side extensors. No light under hood. Both front seats need more thigh support. Too much road feel and vibration from Dunlop tires causes hard steering. There is a blind spot when passenger seat is all the way back. Need grips on underside of steering wheel"

Great Car !, March 27, 2009

"I purchased a 2009 Genesis (V8) to drive back and forth to work. When I got the car home my wife drove the car for the first time. I have not driven the car much since then.. she took ownership of the car. She likes the car better than her Lexus LS430. I drive my old pickup to work now. The Genesis is a fantastic car and super
value. Only drawback might be steep depreciation
that Hyundai vehices tend to experence."

"I have this car and it's simply amazing. There is no doubt why this car won the North American Car of the Year Award. It's quiet, fast, and built with quality. This Hyundai is a keeper! Great handling, and great fuel mileage for a 3.8L, plenty of room for 5 adults and the trunk is huge! I get a ton of compliments on this car, and you get so much car for the money."
