1. Why should I register with MyCarMax?

Registering with MyCarMax saves you time whenever you visit®. It allows you to create, name, and save multiple searches, so they’ll be at your fingertips as soon as you log in. You can also use MyCarMax to save and compare all the vehicles you’re considering. If you’re a CarMax Auto Finance customer, registering with MyCarMax allows you to manage your CarMax Auto Finance account(s). You can make a single payment, set up recurring payments, view your account details and history, and update your personal information.

2. How long can I save my searches?

Your saved searches will remain on MyCarMax until you decide to delete them.

3. Why do you need my email address?

For privacy protection, we use your email address only to identify you on MyCarMax and CarMax Auto Finance Online Account Services (if applicable). Your email address is not released to third parties, and we will only send you emails if you authorize us to do so or if you request information. For more information, please read our privacy policy.

4. One of my saved cars disappeared. Where did it go?

Our cars sell quickly. If a car is sold or becomes unavailable, it will remain in your My Cars list, but will be marked as Unavailable. After five days, the sold car will no longer appear.

5. I forgot my password. What do I do?
Sign In

Select the "Sign In" option from the top of any page, then click on "Forgot Password" and enter your email address. We will send you an email with instructions on how to change your password. You will have 24 hours to reset your password. If you didn't receive an email from CarMax, please add us ( to your safe senders list and enter your email address on the "Forgot Password" page again.

6. How do I contact someone at CarMax?
