Top 10 Most Fuel-Efficient Coupes for 2011
With just two doors and not a whole lot of versatility, coupes exist primarily for pleasure; many place the emphasis squarely on delivering an engaging driving experience. Still, that's not to say that these cars throw practicality out the window. There are choices on the market that will put a smile on your face during your journey, while babying your wallet with down-to-earth fuel efficiency.
The 10 models listed below are segment leaders in fuel economy. Our rankings were determined by looking at the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) miles-per-gallon ratings for city and highway travel. We used the EPA's combined fuel economy formula: 55 percent of city mpg rating plus 45 percent of highway mpg rating. The rating for each vehicle below is expressed in mpg as a city/highway/combined ratio.
Keep in mind that in some cases, models offer trim levels with varying fuel efficiency. Each model's ranking reflects that of the trim level with the best fuel economy.
