Our Most Searched Vehicles This Year
So, what was the most-searched vehicle on carmax.com from sea to shining sea? Hands down, that would be the beloved Jeep Wrangler. With its maverick spirit and rugged outdoorsy vibe, the Wrangler captures the hearts and imaginations of car shoppers from all regions of the country.
Let’s break down 2017’s most-searched cars by region. In the Northeast, Jeep takes the top two spots in this region’s most-searched list with the Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Down the road in the Southeast, people are searching for the Ford F-150 and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, two of America’s hardest-working trucks. In both the Northeast and the Southeast, a bunch of shoppers are also searching for the popular Honda Accord.
Moving over to the middle of the country, it’s an all-American sweep. Midwestern shoppers are searching for the Jeep Wrangler, the Ford F-150, the Ford Explorer, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
Rugged rides rule in the Southwest, where a lot of shoppers are looking for trucks (the F-150 and the Silverado 1500) and SUVs with truck DNA (Chevrolet Tahoe and Toyota 4Runner). And when they’re not looking at Wranglers, people in the West are all about trucks, like the Toyota Tacoma.
Our Most Searched Vehicle Features
When it comes to the most sought-after vehicle features, 4WD/AWD and leather seats dominate searches nationwide. Interestingly, the three states where air conditioning was a top-searched feature are Alaska, Montana, and Oregon. Really, Alaska? We thought it was already pretty chilly there.
