Reviews for 2010 Acura MDX
We traded our Honda CRV for the Acura MDX 2010 (tech package). This has been a pleasant change. The MDX is very powerful and sporty with its 3.7L engine. The new 6 speed transmission that was introduced for 2010 models makes the transition between gears very smooth. The interior is very spacious, though I wish that getting into the 3rd row seats was a bit easier (and roomier). The noise level inside is better than our CRV but not as good as the Lexus (ES/RX). I have experienced a city fuel mileage of about 14 mpg that makes me wish it took non-premium fuel! A huge plus of the MDX is the crisp and responsive navigation screen and loads of tech features(bluetooth phone, audio, traffic/weather updates). It records CDs directly to its hard drive. Sound system is great and there are voice commands for most of the features. One thing that I miss is the parking sensors that I feel would be a great standard accessory for a vehicle of this size.
2010 Acura MDX
Great vehicle. Lots of room. All wheel drive is fantastic in the snow. Acura quality..
Good Value for the money..but bumpy ride
I purchased my 2010 MDX base model in July 2010. I had previously an 03 TL and really loved the quality of an Acura. I love all of the standard equipment that are actually options on higher priced vehicles. Everything like HID headlights, sunroof, leather, memory seats/steering wheel, power steering column, heated front seats, 3 row seven passenger seating, 3 zone climate control system, back up camera integrated in rearview mirror, power tailgate, heated turn signal side mirrors. Some people get on Acura for the designs of the front end of the vehicles (mostly the grills). It doesnt bother me, its unique, who wants a vehicle that looks like everyone elses. My only issue with the MDX is the ride quality. I find the ride to be very bumpy, does not handle any bump/pot hole in the road well at all. The steering becomes very jerky and the car will jolt heavily when going over a bump. For being a midsize crossover, it definitely drives more like a large SUV. I have read articles online where others have complained about this issue as well. They describe the vehicle like they were driving a tank, or they felt like there was no suspension. If the road is smooth, the ride is perfect. Any imperfections in the road though will clearly be felt. Living in the Midwest, we deal with snowy winters. The SH-AWD system handled well. Being that power is sent to all 4 wheels always, I did not experience any of the delay in reaction timing I have with other AWD vehicles where those vehicles had to sense tire spin before it would engage the other tires. I would not describe the MDX like driving a sports car as some have. Just because it has SH-AWD does not make it handle like a sports car. All in all, its a good vehicle. If you live in an area that has quality roads, definitely consider this. If you are from an area that deals with the changing of seasons resulting in pot holes, take it for an extensive test drive before making your final decision.
