Just got the Acura 2010 TL with Technology package and I've got to say I am impressed. The body style is different than what's currently on the market, but if you want to stand out in a crowd of sameness this car may be for you. Inside the leather is quite nice. Comfortable seats, but it's a pinch tight for bigger folks. The interior quality is high. Everything is smooth to the touch. The radio and navigation has a learning curve, but is pretty simple once you get it down. The number of buttons on the dash can be very intimidating. But once again, once you get it down, it's not bad. Radio is excellent. However satellite, if you get it, does tend to cut out when passing under thick trees, not just underpasses and tunnel. This can get annoying. But sound quality is excellent. As far as ride goes, it's very quiet inside. 5-speed automatic transmission could be smoother. But it handles well on the road. Trunk space could be bigger as well. But overall, if you love the Honda brand, you will really love Acura. The TL is a Honda on steroids!
We are very happy with our "new" Acura TL. We selected about 5 cars to test drive, two of which were Mercedes, but none gave the value that the Acura did. The car is comfortable (I am 6'3"), powerful (280 HP), and well equipped (Navigation system, excellent sound, sunroof etc.)
Acura has all the reliability of Honda but with near luxury trim. This is the second TL I've owned, and I would not hesitate to buy another Acura.
In 1995, Acura released the TL model line to fill the void left by the departure of the beloved Vigor. The TL fulfilled this marque's need for an all-wheel drive, V6-powered sedan that could hold its own against the competitors in this class. As a result, this model line instantly exploded into popularity and held buyers' interest throughout its lengthy production history. Throughout its 15-year run, this model line underwent four unique generational updates to improve its styling, performance, and technology features.
As an important part of the fourth-generation lineup, the 2010 Acura TL offers a tremendous amount of value in a well-balanced package. This luxury build successfully matches the tone set by the model's 2006 win of the "Best Blend of Sport and Luxury" designation from ConsumerSearch.
In its humble beginnings, the Acura TL offered a simple yet intriguing blend of luxury and sport unmatched by the competition of that time. The TL designation, which means Touring Luxury, actually sums up this model's purpose-built nature perfectly.
Luxury features abound across this model line, including:
In the first year of production, the base model TL honored its Vigor legacy by utilizing the 20-valve, five-cylinder engine, though the 3.2L V6 was available as an upgrade. By 2010, the model came stock with the powerful 3.5L V6 for the front-drive configuration or 3.7L V6 in the all-wheel drive upgrade.
A smooth, luxurious ride is definitely what the 2010 Acura TL is all about. The double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension system boosts driver and passenger comfort without sacrificing this vehicle's capable handling characteristics. The all-wheel drive option takes the handling to the next level in all weather conditions, including ice and snow. Both of the available V6 power plants are more than capable while accelerating off the line and passing at speed. The six-speed manual transmission places the power firmly in drivers' hands for spirited cruising on demand. Fade-resistant brakes and speedsensitive steering keep this luxury vehicle safely moving through the corners and straights without delay.
The 2010 Acura TL's inspired luxury sport build offers incredible value over the competitors in this class. At just under 3,700 pounds, this four-door sedan remains agile and poised to deliver ample power with a touch of the gas pedal. The full line of standard electronic convenience features, such as keyless start and Bluetooth connectivity, rivals the systems provided in similar luxury vehicles. The navigation system, featuring an eight-inch display, amp, and 10 speakers, offers a touch of extravagance in an affordable package.
High tech features actively prevent drivers from being involved in collisions while piloting the 2010 Acura TL. These include:
These features inspire confidence while piloting this luxury car in harsh weather conditions or high-speed traffic situations.
This vehicle's reinforced frame, Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, and effective airbag system help protect the driver and passengers in the event of an accident. Three-point seatbelts and active head restraints also help to restrain and protect vehicle occupants.
The base 3.5L V6 engine produces an amazing 280 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque off the line. For a bit more power, drivers can select the all-wheel drive model, which boasts the 3.7L V6 that produces 305 horsepower in an instant. Both of these high-performance engines put the power to the wheels by way of a five- or six-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual gearbox. The all-wheel drive upgrade expertly controls the power delivery using a multi-vectoring system that maintains traction at all times. This excellent combination of performance features allows for a sub-14-second quarter-mile and 5.2-second 0-to-60 time.
The seamless, sweeping bodylines give the 2010 Acura TL a futuristic appeal that was way ahead of its time. The rectangular headlights wrap around the fenders and blend beautifully with the integrated turn signals. Chrome accents around the windows and lights give this luxury sedan a sophisticated look and feel.
In the interior, driver and passenger comfort and satisfaction is maximized with the top luxury features, including:
With so many convenience, tech, and comfort features on tap, the 2010 Acura TL never fails to deliver a smooth, balanced ride for all to enjoy.
