2009 Audi 5

This is an absolutely fabulous car! Traded in my 07 Mercedes Benz 55 AMG. Wanted a vehicle that was great on gas, looks, and one that would provide excellent quality. I was not disappointed. Of course its not a 500 HP Mercedes AMG that offer every feature under the sun, but however it gets the job done! Comparing those two vehicle is like comparing apples and oranges so I am not going to bother. People often talk about power but this car at nearly 300 HP give or take 30 HP is good enough for me and probably for most. I have previously owned BMW, Mercedes, Mustang, and Cadillac and I can honestly say that Audi is just good if not better. For those wanted more horse power, you might want to consider a S5, an RS5 or some form of muscle car. I don't need to HP, because I been there and done that. I needed a reiable car with excellent gas mileage and good valve for my money. I believed that with this Audi that I have achieved both.

A5 Delivers As Promised

I've had the Audi A5 for about a month and pretty much everything I've read and heard about this puppy is true so far. The two biggest things: 1. Be prepared for a lot of head turning stares. This car gets attention. Between the lines and sleek profile, the aggressive grill, and LED daytime running lamps, it's just really really hard not to look at this car as it goes by...or even as it's just standing still. It's truly beautiful and its rarity on the road (so far, being a new model, a coupe, and at a price point way above average) makes it that much more eye-catching...'what IS that?', I'm sure people are wondering. 2. It's a zippy performer but definitely not a sports car. The relatively low horsepower for a V6 belies it racy exterior. It certainly does not jump off the line like it looks like it should. The S5 is supposed to get you there more. Having said that, this car is no slouch, though. It may be slower than you'd like at start, but when it gets up to speed, it handles beautifully and confidently. In fact, call me crazy, but it feels like it prefers to run at 70-80 mph than it does going 40-50 mph. The features and amenities work flawlessly and the MMI unit is pretty easy to learn. Things like Bluetooth, iPod connectivity, rearview camera, voice commands, navigation system, valet setting, side assist (blind spot monitoring for lane changing), and auto-dimming rearview mirror may not be the types of things you can only find in this car, but they are in there and work very well together. So far, the only things I don't really like are that it has a tilt-only sunroof. Would be great to open that up fully. But this is something you know when you buy the car, so it's not too bad. The other thing is that front cupholder blocks access to the shifter just enough to be annoying when there's a normal size cup/bottle in there. Not a big deal but when so much is right about a vehicle, it's hard to find some faults.

Experience Required

Great Car! It looks, feels, and rides like a total luxury vehicle should. Saved about $10,000 buying it used but be advised that when it comes to German vehicles you want maintenance technicians who are professionally and specifically trained to work on your Audi to work on your car.
