This vehicle has met my expectations and more. As you can imagine, it's a head turner(the a5 has made numerous lists of most stylish cars in the last 10 years), but the gas mileage has been a great surprise. 25+ in stop and go and up to 35 on the highway. Amazing. This is a high class luxury car that at the same time is practical?? Impossible?! Leave it to the germans to make this reality. - Handles well- - Smooth ride - steering stiffens at speed. - Huge trunk - Luxury interior -- I have premium/tech/nav packages. - plenty of room in backseat.. - Great sound system. Only negative is I wish the sunroof opened. Highly recommended.
I have really enjoyed the car as it performs very well, very comfortable, just the right amount of amenities that actually improve the driving experience. I would and have recommended the car to my friends and I look forward to the opportunity to purchase another in a few years.
I've had the Audi A5 for about a month and pretty much everything I've read and heard about this puppy is true so far. The two biggest things: 1. Be prepared for a lot of head turning stares. This car gets attention. Between the lines and sleek profile, the aggressive grill, and LED daytime running lamps, it's just really really hard not to look at this car as it goes by...or even as it's just standing still. It's truly beautiful and its rarity on the road (so far, being a new model, a coupe, and at a price point way above average) makes it that much more eye-catching...'what IS that?', I'm sure people are wondering. 2. It's a zippy performer but definitely not a sports car. The relatively low horsepower for a V6 belies it racy exterior. It certainly does not jump off the line like it looks like it should. The S5 is supposed to get you there more. Having said that, this car is no slouch, though. It may be slower than you'd like at start, but when it gets up to speed, it handles beautifully and confidently. In fact, call me crazy, but it feels like it prefers to run at 70-80 mph than it does going 40-50 mph. The features and amenities work flawlessly and the MMI unit is pretty easy to learn. Things like Bluetooth, iPod connectivity, rearview camera, voice commands, navigation system, valet setting, side assist (blind spot monitoring for lane changing), and auto-dimming rearview mirror may not be the types of things you can only find in this car, but they are in there and work very well together. So far, the only things I don't really like are that it has a tilt-only sunroof. Would be great to open that up fully. But this is something you know when you buy the car, so it's not too bad. The other thing is that front cupholder blocks access to the shifter just enough to be annoying when there's a normal size cup/bottle in there. Not a big deal but when so much is right about a vehicle, it's hard to find some faults.
