Transmission: Automatic Color: Black Avg. Vehicle Review: 4.375 (39 reviews) "Owned lots of cars in my life, the 135i was one of them. The styling polarizes people, I really like it, but I can see why others don't like it. The performance is exceptional, and other than the run flat tires, rides pretty smoothly. Brakes are 6-piston brembos, and are phenomenal. Gas mileage is worse than indicated, and there are too many problems with the fuel system and the turbochargers in this car. The back seat is too small for anyone other than a toddler just heavy enough to not need any kind of booster seats. Consumer Reports ranks this as one of the best sports cars out there, sadly, with the worst reliability. If you intend to buy one, strongly consider an extended warranty, because parts and labor are extremely expensive for any BMW."

Vehicle Review: 4 (39 reviews) "This model is like a spots car, but with a little more room, and a little higher, which makes it lots easier to get in and out of.......gracefully. I love the car. Top up, top down, I don't care. It looks great,, it's very comfortable, drives like a dream. So far I don't have any "cons" about the overall. Only "pros". It really is the ultimate driving machine."

Transmission: Automatic Color: Gold Avg. Vehicle Review: 4.375 (39 reviews) "And for my personal review of the 1 series, lets start out with a walk around of the outside of the vehicle. The aesthetics appearance is impressive with the way the designers sculptured the true beauty of a BMW into this model. The trunk is quite large and also offers fold down rear seats to increase your luggage space on those multi-state BMW drives. The fit and finish of all body panels show the true quality of a fine engineered automobile. One thing the 135i has that did not make it onto the 3 series was the painted calipers with BMW lettering. And it does get recognized by those sitting next to you at the stop lights. The 135i has a stance of aggressiveness when viewed from the front, as it is waiting to be challenged by a Porsche. On the inside you do feel the closeness to your passenger that you do not feel in the 3 series. I guess this is due to the 1 series being 1.5 smaller in width. With the sport seats you feel as if you are ready to hit the track. You push on the side bolster support button and the seat squeezes you in for those high G maneuvers. The 1 series did not cut down on any quality or BMW feeling that you would get from any other BMW. With the push of the start button you hear the rumble of the well tuned exhaust. It is just music to your ears hearing this exhaust. The ride and comfort of the 1 series is excellent. With the sport suspension you feel the firmness of this vehicle, which still is at an enjoyable level. 0-60mph is 5.1 seconds in the 6spd manual transmission according to BMW, however Car & Driver were able to get to 60mph in 4.7 seconds. Quarter mile time is quoted at 13.3 seconds at 106mph. I guess I will need to verify this information with the iPhone application BMW ///M Powermeter. The only places I feel that BMW could have increased their quality in the model I have (which may be different if you purchased the premium package) is on the visors, which are not material covered to match the headliner. And even with run-flat tires I would like to see the vehicle include a vehicle jack and place to mount this item. So overall I am quite impressed with the quality and performance that BMW has put into the 1 series."

Transmission: Automatic Color: Silver Avg. Vehicle Review: 4.833 (39 reviews) "I dinged quality a bit because it already has the high pressure fuel pump issue at 15,000 miles. That's an issue that can strand you. I went into the purchase knowing that issue is unresolved for these cars and looms as a threat to one's enjoyment of it, so I'm not complaining, but I can't tell people that it is a reliable product with that issue still as prevalent as it is. They need to know before they buy. BMW covers it and my dealer has been upfront and quick to address it, but as of this date, the problem is still out there on some the 35i products, especially used ones that may be changing hands without anyone ever bringing them into the local BMW dealer for updates. I love the car otherwise. It reminds me of the old e30, intimate and involving, yet civil and comfortable enough for everyday driving. It's general demeanor is classic BMW: eager and fun. The engine, when operating as designed, is magnificent: urgent, smooth and powerful. The brakes are confidence inspiring and the steering is terrific. The chassis has some abrupt motions, but I find it right at home in the tight country two-lane driving I do. This car EATS miles. I drive 35 miles each way to and from work and I want to just keep driving at both ends. It is very fun to drive. Comfort is very good to me, I like smaller cabins. The well bolstered seats keep you snugly positioned for spirited driving and the view out the front is excellent. The rear seats I've sat in a few times and find them perfectly comfortable also. The technology stuff like Bluetooth and the stereo I don't pay much attention to, so you'll have to read a magazine for details on that. It works alright, no problems with it, I just don't use it. The seat heaters are German hot and the heat reaches halfway up your back. My wife LOVES this feature in a car and BMW seat heaters are her favorites. Fuel mileage is quite good so far considering the performance bias of this model, about 27 highway. If past BMW experience holds true with this one, this will improve at about the 30-50K mark, as it finishes breaking in. I would not be surprised to see 30 plus at that point. Of course, that drops dramatically when you start laying into the power so your results may vary ; ) For the modders, it is a great piece. There is a lot to mod and you can build a burner out of these pretty inexpensively, but as always, be careful with tuner stuff, you can tune yourself into a repair that isn't covered by your warranty. Use your head there. Overall, I love it. If they sort out the fuel pump issues - and I think they will - I would heartily recommend this car for anyone who wants a compact coupe that is fun to drive."
