Transmission: Automatic Color:Black Interior Color: Tan Average Vehicle Review: (4.769 reviews) After owning an E46 for nearly seven years I was excited to buy an E92. The performance is impressive compared to my 325Cic and is a blast to drive. These cars are built to last but require a commitment to maintain in order to keep on the road. It's much easier if your wallet if you enjoy DIY projects and much more gratifying too. Do yourself a favor and ditch the Runflats with Summer tires, the ride and performance will improve greatly.

Costly maintenance after warranty

Not a practical everyday driver. Heavy tight steering for city driving. Okay for the highway. Slow off the line. Turbo lag. Not quite an M3. Maybe a 335is would be better but does not come in 4 door for 2011 model. 2011 no longer has BMW warranty. Very expensive to maintain.

E92 335i, sports package and AT

I had owned a few reasonably priced high strung sports cars before including a WRX STI, a Lotus Elise and a Porsche Cayman S. I would say that it is an overstatement to claim that this car drives like a sports car. It very nearly does. What really ruins it I suspect are the run flat tires. Not only are they expensive, but the sidewalls are so stiff BMW decided to spring their cars soft even with sports package. So you have this interesting combination of sometimes harsh, sometimes too soft feel. Having said that, the car has a great balance. When you loose it, everything just seems to happens in slow motion in a very predictable way. I had never driven anything like it. Overall, it is an easy car to live with that has a bit of zing. Reasonably comfortable, fast, good handling, safe and etc. It does hit that sweet spot nicely. I sure wish the car came with REAL tires though but that I suspect isn't as easy as simply swaping out tires. It will likely to require replacing springs AND shocks if you do not want to ruin handling.

335is Quality and performance

I recommend the 335is. The "is" model has a bit lower stance with M suspension, the 19" 313 wheels are some of the best stock wheels in my opinion, and the 335is has a exhaust that is exclusive to that model only. It has a nice gargle when you let off the throttle and is quite throaty. I wanted a manual transmission but after test driving the dual clutch, the choice was easy. The DCT is very much a manual transmission with a auto option in my opinion. Yes you don't have a clutch that you as the driver regulate but the shifts with the DCT are lightening fast and hit hard. This car may not be a e92 M3 but don't be fooled, its a wolf in sheep's clothing making almost 100ftlbs more torque while in overboost. Do yourself favor and get a 335is.
