I was debating on the 335i and a 328xi, both with manual transmissions, and both in coupe form. I ended up going with the 335i and I'm extremely happy that I did. The 335i has twin turbos where the 328 is naturally aspirated. The added power and performance were night and day when I test drove the respective cars. I would recommend the 335 over the 328 to anyone. Another thing to note about the BMW vs. most other models is the "fit and finish" difference. With the BMWs (this is my second one) everything seems to be a little better made and a little better quality. The gaps are tighter, the design is more refined, and they (the BMW engineers/car designers) seem to pay attention to the little things. I love the BMW brand and I don't foresee myself driving another brand for a long time, if ever.
Nice amount of power whenever you need it. DCT transmission is performance engineered and creates an awesome driving experience. Very classy car and with the hardtop convertible it's like having two different cars. We've had 5 different BMW's over the last18 years and this is by far the best one yet!
First of all..a disclaimer: Am not a car fanatic, nor the most mechanically inclined person you will ever meet. I do, however, know enough about cars to know when you are driving a well-made, well-engineered car. Let's begin with the aesthetics: As expected, this car has a very strong European flavor to its external styling as well as the interior layout and trim. The instrument console is easy to read an interpret. Most of the controls are intuitive, however, the light that indicates whether the rain sensor (for the windshield wipers) has been activates is blocked by the steering wheel. The sound system is of high quality, but one would have expected more than a single CD deck in this model. In terms of handling, this car leaves nothing to be desired. It is very responsive to light touches of the accelerator and seems to have a predilection for going about 80 mph. The center of gravity is pretty low as the car takes turns and rapid braking with no perceptible loss of grip on the road. The manual transmission is well designed and enables the driver to truly sense the power of this dual turbo-charged engine.
