After owning an E46 for nearly seven years I was excited to buy an E92. The performance is impressive compared to my 325Cic and is a blast to drive. These cars are built to last but require a commitment to maintain in order to keep on the road. It's much easier if your wallet if you enjoy DIY projects and much more gratifying too. Do yourself a favor and ditch the Runflats with Summer tires, the ride and performance will improve greatly.
Luxurious fun! I never considered BMWs because of the price. However, previously owned made it affordable. I had no idea just how much fun these cars are to drive. Power galore and just the most luxurious and comfortable car. The top goes up and down so easily without much wind when driving, that I go home with the top down 90% of the time, versus 10% with my previous 2 convertibles.
Excellent piece of engineering. Very nice to drive, far superior to the Audi A4, and the Volvo S60. The responsiveness and handling was superior to the Mercedes C300, but not by as significant a margin as the Audi and Volvo. The steering and transmission are what I like the best about the 335xi, but the model I bought has the sports package so I think that contributes to a bit of a hard ride. If you like smoother rides and bump handling, look hard at the Mercedes C class, that car handled bumps well and had a very smooth suspension. Feature wise, the 335xi has more features than I will ever really use. I only wish the navigation system posted the speed limit for the stretch of road you are driving on, that is a feature I really like with the stand alone Garmin models. The heated seats are awesome and get so hot so quickly I wonder what impact that is having on the battery, but so far I've had no issues. If anything, this car has some extremely well thought out engineering in every single little detail. Now that I've driven this car for several hundred miles around the area, I doubt I'll be able to go back to another sedan again. I believe I will be driving BMWs for a long time to come.
