The performance is impressive compared to my 325Cic and is a blast to drive. These cars are built to last but require a commitment to maintain in order to keep on the road. It's much easier if your wallet if you enjoy DIY projects and much more gratifying too. Do yourself a favor and ditch the Runflats with Summer tires, the ride and performance will improve greatly.

The driving experience is top-notch. I'm getting rid of it due to the high mileage and cost of maintenance, but she still drives like new and looks beautiful. I would recommend without reservation!

The 6 cylinder twin turbo engine saves me gas like no other which is another pro when you trying to save money on gas. Premium gas is required but full tank will last you a week if driven like a civilized person with a light foot on the pedal. Over all it's an awesome car!

Best cars I've owned

I've owned several E92 3 series and they're great cars. When buying one I really recommend getting a full maintenance warranty, not because they're unreliable (quite the opposite in fact), but because these are performance-built cars with turbo high-compression engines that require a bit more TLC than your average daily driver so sometimes even small issues can add up really quickly. That's the trade-off when buying a "driver's car" with the best suspensions and transmissions in the industry next to Porsche. The N55 engine is also a multiple Engine of the Year Award recipient and the '11-'13 models are the last years BMW still used hydraulic steering before swapping to electronic. They're some of the best cars BMW has ever produced.

BMW 335xi

Excellent piece of engineering. Very nice to drive, far superior to the Audi A4, and the Volvo S60. The responsiveness and handling was superior to the Mercedes C300, but not by as significant a margin as the Audi and Volvo. The steering and transmission are what I like the best about the 335xi, but the model I bought has the sports package so I think that contributes to a bit of a hard ride. If you like smoother rides and bump handling, look hard at the Mercedes C class, that car handled bumps well and had a very smooth suspension. Feature wise, the 335xi has more features than I will ever really use. I only wish the navigation system posted the speed limit for the stretch of road you are driving on, that is a feature I really like with the stand alone Garmin models. The heated seats are awesome and get so hot so quickly I wonder what impact that is having on the battery, but so far I've had no issues. If anything, this car has some extremely well thought out engineering in every single little detail. Now that I've driven this car for several hundred miles around the area, I doubt I'll be able to go back to another sedan again. I believe I will be driving BMWs for a long time to come.

Costly maintenance after warranty

Not a practical everyday driver. Heavy tight steering for city driving. Okay for the highway. Slow off the line. Turbo lag. Not quite an M3. Maybe a 335is would be better but does not come in 4 door for 2011 model. 2011 no longer has BMW warranty. Very expensive to maintain.
