Car is fantastic. Coming from E39 530i, this vehicle is a significant step up in performance and comfort. This E60 is the perfect size for my needs; comfortably seats 4 and can cruise smoothly and silently. With a press of the right foot, the car changes from a luxury cruiser to a rocket on wheels. Handling is spot on; it drives like a much smaller car. The sound of the V8 once the tach gets to 3.5k is phenomenal. Sure, there are faster cars out there, but I have yet to see another vehicle that balances the performance and comfort so perfectly. Only downside is fuel economy - average around 16 mpg around town.

I bought this car lays October in Ontario CA. I was hoping for a great experience. Unfortunately I think carmax knew this was a lemon and was very happy to see it go out the door. When I test drove it it was cutting out. The salesman said it was just water on the engine. Since last October I have had it in the shop 6 times. I have had to replace 4 ignition coils, one manifold sensor and the brakes were at 7% after 48k miles. I have been very disappointed and I'm obviously a lot poorer. I would not recommend this car to anyone. I leave it in the driveway afraid that if I do go anywhere it will just break down. All I wanted was a dependable car. What I have is a nightmare. A stupid purchase.
Fun to drive
