I have had an X3 for 5 years and I have two children, two dogs , myself and my husband. We were grown out of the X3 completely. I was originally going to purchase an Acura MDX and test drove it idk how many times. I've always wanted to upgrade to an X5 but didn't think financially it was a good idea. Then I met Dave Cormany and AJ (manager in Davie FL). I told them I felt like the Acura felt kind of like a toy car driving it and really wanted an X5 but didn't think they would have one that was affordable. I was wrong! Thank god I said something because it just so happened they had a few of them reasonably priced and that was the end of that.
My wife had been driving a Lexus LX470, and the fuel cost was getting out of control. Nice car, but not economical to drive. We had rented diesels in europe and liked them, so we search one out back home. The BMW X5 Diesel has impressed from the test drive through today. The car was a lease return, and we had to have a minor fix done to it for maintenance that wasn't done right. But other than that, it is an absolute pleasure to drive - when I get a chance. It accelerates much stronger than the Lexus, handles like a finely tuned touring car, and milage has been 10 mpg better than the Lexus was getting city and highway. Third row seat are best for 10 year olds and under, and I wish it had a bit more cargo space. But for trips, this car is great. It does everything you ask it to do, and does it well. And we love stopping at the gas station half as often as we used to, and still have the power to pull away from most other SUVs.
We drove over an hour from syracuse to purchase our BMW x5 from the carmax in rochester. They were so friendly and efficient from the moment we walked in the door. It was as if everyone was going out of their way to make our experience a positive one. We ended up having a few minor issues with the X5 after we purchased it but they again went above and beyond to fix it and make it right. I would highly recommend them to anyone!!
