Seats are comfortable and the car drives very smooth. Heat seat great and backup camera and sensors. There are some confusing things about it like the windshield wipers are either on or intermittent the intermittent mode took me forever to figure out and its just a strange setup. The heat doesn't blow out enough, sometimes I like the car air to really hit me this doesn't. The door locks are kind of a pain in the butt, overtime I exit the car I have to manually unlock the door or have the key in my hand, if I have my bag in the back and the key is in it if I get out of the car and open the back door its always locked. Tried to reprogram it on the computer but to no avail. Also the GPS is a little bit tricky when programming.
Drives and handles great, plenty of power, fun, fun, fun! Space is flexible and it drives great when fully loaded or empty. Lot's of aftermarket upgrades available, online BMW community is strong, and lots of help. The only problems is with finding a decent dealer to service the SUV in S.E. Metro Phoenix. Every time I take it to the local dealer, they make more problems than they fix.
I recently purchased the 4.4i version of the x5 and the acceleration is amazing. The interior wears well and looks great and the air cools and heats within seconds of turning the truck on. The interior space for passengers is great but the cargo area could use a bit more width. The only real negative about the truck thus far is the ride. I know it has a sport suspension but I can feel every bump in the road hence making the ride horrible as if I just purchased a mini or sports car. I just turned in a landrover LR3 2006 and I must say for the same amount of money it has a MUCH better ride and similar acceleration. BMW is much less to fix for breaks and such but I'm a bit disappointed in the ride and Dallas streets. Great turning radius and a fantastic full sliding glass roof with a great record on reliability. Landrover was for me too so if I had to choose again....the BMW comes in a close second.
