Reviews for 2009 Buick Enclave

Overall Rating

4.3 out of 5(19 reviews)

I recommend it because I just love it! I was looking for another Ford Explorer with lots of amenities when I was shown the Enclave. It had everything I wanted - and much more (including AWD, heated seats, and running boards) and it didn't look like a "practical" SUV, but looked like a beautiful luxury vehicle...which it is! I am so glad that it was there for me the day I went shopping because it would not have lasted another day or two - for certain.

We like the cars look, space and features. Now we've had it a few years and can't wait to say good bye to it. It has Many blind spots including when you want to turn left, the frame/mirror on drivers side are huge and always in the way. If the park assist camera doesn't work it's very hard to parallel park because back window is so small. We've had Many major issues go wrong; the back hatch breaking and water leaks which also cause electrical issues just to name 2. It looks nice and luxurious but has many cheaply made items that break easily. The pick up is not what I like, if I need to accelerate quickly there is a delay and jolt. Other than that its nice looking and has a lot of space for traveling with kids and carpooling. (Just expect things to break when they use them)

It's no Honda, but Very Nice

As an avid Honda owner (over the years have owned 2 Civics, an Accord, and a CR-V), I was a tad hesitant to buy a Buick. Honda's have always been good to us -- they just last forever and run very very well, but we never liked the look of the Pilot or Ridgeline so we decided to look at other makes/models out there. Getting to the point, my wife and I have always admired the look of the Enclave, and with a second baby on the way, we surely would need the extra room and amenities that this vehicle has to offer. Now, I'm not one to write lengthy online reviews of the things I buy, so I'll try to sum this up quickly..... Pros are: tons of space (the third row fold-away seating is great), loaded with options and comfort features, and the vehicle looks and rides very well. As some of our friends have said, "this car is 'sexy'!" Cons: at first it felt very comfy to drive, but in my opinion the seats are somewhat oversized -- they just don't "hug" your body very well (i.e., the seat sides don't flare out enough). I'm not a very big guy (5'8" 170lbs), so I find I slide around a bit on the leather seats when turning. My wife has the same problem and she's very petite. It took me about a month before I found a seating adjustment that I liked and felt comfortable in on long drives. For a large SUV I've also been a little disappointed in its power. It has a bit of "punch" when you floor it, but there's a delayed reaction and not enough power (in my opinion). Other than that my other 2 negative comments are that a) it has poor gas mileage (to be expected for an SUV of this size though), and b) the car had a higher pricetag than what I would have hoped for (but again to be expected for a 'luxury' model like this). Anyway, I guess that about sums it up for me. Overall it's a very nice vehicle to drive and look at. We've had a lot of compliments on it. If you hate minivans but like the space and features they generally have to offer, and want something that looks and drives great, then this is probably a good choice for you.
