Transmission: Automatic Color:Red Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.263 reviews) We bought our 2009 enclave with 34,000 miles. We fell in love with the space, comfort, and look of the car. We had just sold our 2005 Pathfinder. When we got it home we noticed some bubbling on the black surface around the windows. We took it to the dealer and was told this was a common problem with the enclave. They fixed it at no charge since it was still under warranty. As we drove the car more that week we started to notice that it doesn't have the power that my pathfinder did. It is a very heavy car with not enough power. The transmission is constantly shifting and RPMs going up while you are driving. We find this annoying and it really affects the gas mileage. I don't see this car ever getting 24mpg as stated. We also noticed a strange grinding sound with sharp turns and thought it to be low on power steering fluid. Checked it and it had plenty. Three wks after purchasing the car we noticed alot of fluid under it and a strange smell so we took it in to the dealer. The water pump was broken, power steering pump, power steering gear, and the oil pan was leaking. Once again, we were told that these were common problems with the enclave. All of this was replaced at no charge due to the warranty. This is a beautiful car with tons of room, comfort, and all the bells and whistles. With all of that being said, I think buick thought more about all of those things than performance and durability. I feel that this car is way too expensive to have had all of those problems even before 35,000 miles. It seems so fragile compared to my Nissan. We love the car but hate the problems. Hopefully there won't be anymore. I would recommend it to a friend but would also let them know about the problems that we have had.

It's no Honda, but Very Nice

As an avid Honda owner (over the years have owned 2 Civics, an Accord, and a CR-V), I was a tad hesitant to buy a Buick. Honda's have always been good to us -- they just last forever and run very very well, but we never liked the look of the Pilot or Ridgeline so we decided to look at other makes/models out there. Getting to the point, my wife and I have always admired the look of the Enclave, and with a second baby on the way, we surely would need the extra room and amenities that this vehicle has to offer. Now, I'm not one to write lengthy online reviews of the things I buy, so I'll try to sum this up quickly..... Pros are: tons of space (the third row fold-away seating is great), loaded with options and comfort features, and the vehicle looks and rides very well. As some of our friends have said, "this car is 'sexy'!" Cons: at first it felt very comfy to drive, but in my opinion the seats are somewhat oversized -- they just don't "hug" your body very well (i.e., the seat sides don't flare out enough). I'm not a very big guy (5'8" 170lbs), so I find I slide around a bit on the leather seats when turning. My wife has the same problem and she's very petite. It took me about a month before I found a seating adjustment that I liked and felt comfortable in on long drives. For a large SUV I've also been a little disappointed in its power. It has a bit of "punch" when you floor it, but there's a delayed reaction and not enough power (in my opinion). Other than that my other 2 negative comments are that a) it has poor gas mileage (to be expected for an SUV of this size though), and b) the car had a higher pricetag than what I would have hoped for (but again to be expected for a 'luxury' model like this). Anyway, I guess that about sums it up for me. Overall it's a very nice vehicle to drive and look at. We've had a lot of compliments on it. If you hate minivans but like the space and features they generally have to offer, and want something that looks and drives great, then this is probably a good choice for you.
