I was lucky enough to find a 2006 DTS with only 14Kmi on it! This car is "mint" in all respects and is loaded with more gadgetry than I will probably ever need. It was a sad day when I had to finally liquidate my 1998 DeVille. She was a great vehicle with the exception of a design flaw that placed the alternantor in a position where it was subject to extreme heat exposure. So, if you live in the Deep South and like to run your AC while idling in traffic, get ready to replace it! Now, back to the DTS! Great luxury seating, the seats seem to just want to wrap around you and hold you like a nice woman on a clear spring day! (How's that for imagery?) Any way, great luxury/sporty ride (not as air-like as the DeVille), no "dolphining" over bumps like the DV and in my opinion holds the road better and steers better than the DV. Apperance wise, what can I say? Mine is silver with the factory aluminum alloy wheels and in combination with the great hood/grill and the V shaped rear brake light it just announces "I am a Cadillac!" to all who are fortunate enough to view it. I guess you've discerned that yes, I LOVE THIS CAR! It has power to spare and that nice "throaty" sound when you open her up a little. Acceleration can be head - snapping! Be forewarned...! I'd buy another one in a microsecond! Heck, I'd buy 6 of 'em!
Just purchased a 2006. three months in, with 50k miles i have my first problem. service brakes warning. don`t know yet if it is just replace pads or more serious problem. car rides great, plenty of power, easy to drive. highway mileage very good for a big car, city about 16. so far overall 20mpg highway city combined average. hope the reliability will be good, after i get the problem fixed.
Bought this car about 2 years ago with 62000 miles. I now have about 82000. I have not had to take to the shop for anything. (Oil changes, brakes excluded. This car is bullet proof. It's comfortable, rides great, very quiet. Love everything about the car! Highly recommend this car!
