2008 Cadillac Escalade Growing Family - Westchester County, NY 03/28/2011

With the recent additon of our third child, we originally considered squeezing into our 2000 Escalade but, while doable, decided everyone would be happier - and the driver saner and safer! - with more elbow room. The plusses include the folding second row bucket seats (we leave driver side bucket folded for easy access to the third row), the built in DVD player and easy to manage climate control system. The minuses include the cumbersome DVD/CD functionality (random CD selection per CD, cannot select across several CDs), the upholstery stitching is attractive but too easy to catch on, the fuel consumption is awful (which we knew but gas prices went up the first week we had the vehicle!) . Overall, we're very happy with the car and appreciate the fact that we have space (i.e. for diaper changes, comfort on long trips, to hang out/do homework in between pick ups, etc.).

2008 Escalade lacking just a little bit...

2008 Cadillac Escalade Car enthusiast MP - Los Angeles, Ca 07/21/2009

I gave this car an overall 4 stars because it lacks some of the finer amenities found in comparable luxury vehicles. Some people may think it's petty, but I think it should be standard. For instance, there is no bluetooth available to connect to your mobile phone, instead they want you to subscribe to a second service (On Star), which the car isn't used enough to warrant it. The driver controls for windows does not have auto down or up for all windows, like other high end cars have. The escalade still uses a key, no push to start or stop engine. The remote start requires you to press lock then the hold the start button, where other cars you just push the remote start button and it locks the doors automatically and starts your car. It's just the little distinctions that make a car great and this one misses a few of them, but overall the whole package is still better than it's rivals. Great engine performance, interior roon/spaciousness, and exterior looks really set it apart.

DO NOT BUY AN ESCALADE

2007 Cadillac Escalade Mikkothecat - Private 06/23/2009

We had an escalade for about 1 year and we bought it new yet after about 25k miles it just stopped running!

Cadillac Escalade Overview

The powerful Cadillac Escalade is a large, three-row crossover SUV that boasts a surprisingly luxurious ride without sacrificing any towing power. Aimed at attracting families, the Escalade takes pride in its interior comforts.

Cadillac Escalade History

The initial Chevrolet Escalade received little fanfare upon introduction. Indeed, it was the latest entry in the luxury SUV battle - it took a break in 2001 to prepare for major redesigns in 2002. It emerged with a high-quality interior and rear-wheel drive versions. Over the years, Cadillac introduced the Escalade with a variety of trims, including: EXT, ESV, and Platinum. Otherwise, the Escalade has changed very little over the last several model years. The latest Escalade is heavily restyled and filled with leather and suede upholstery.

How It Drives

With high-quality upholstery, tons of space, and a quiet cabin, the Chevrolet Escalade is built to maximize interior comforts for all passengers. The drive itself could be more engaging and acceleration could be more powerful, but the driver will enjoy a luxurious ride. Fuel economy is roughly similar to other large SUVs with enough efficiency to be the go-to vehicle to ferry the family around the city. Additionally, the Escalade can tow more than 8000 pounds depending on its configuration.

Used Cadillac Escalade Value

Despite being based on a pickup, the Cadillac Escalade is one of the most luxurious SUVs on the market. While that doesn't mean it's any less good at towing boats or transporting families around, the large crossover SUV stands out against competitors by providing the best day-to-day driving experience.

Cadillac Escalade Standard Features

The Cadillac Escalade is powered by a 6.2 V8 engine built to haul this gargantuan vehicle. Typically, it's paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, but some 2015 models and all 2016 models received an upgrade to the eight-speed automatic transmission. The Escalade has either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive as options.

Top 10 Cars with High Ground Clearance
They’re big. They’re bold. They’re kinda in your face. Tall pickup trucks and SUVs have the kind of ride height that gets you over, through, and around the kind of rough terrain which stops other vehicles in their tracks. If you live in a place with lots of snow, mud, or uneven ground, ride height (defined as the distance between the bottom of your truck’s tires and the lowest point on the underside) is probably more important to you than road-hugging and handling characteristics and strong fuel efficiency.
