Art and Science

I am completely sold on GMs new effort to re-invent itself. I agree with most critics about Cadillac, as well. The STS was part of the spearhead to establish the Marque on the world stage. After driving this car I found out what all the hubbub was about. This car is a heck of a machine. It is smooth, quiet, and fast. The features of the car abound and leaves you wanting for nothing. It is a sexy and sophisticated machine that is screwed together quite well! I think I will be a Cadillac man from now on.

American Luxury

I'm pretty picky when it comes to cars. Must be American, have a V8, and be rear wheel drive. Also must look great in black! This car is all that and more. Solid performance with the 320HP V8 and nicely tuned suspension. Now this car is not "soft" like your grandpa's Cadillac. It's more like a touring suspension, a little firm for decent handling, but not too firm. The performance from the V8 is excellent, always there when you need it. Exhaust sounds good too. The 5-spd transmission always knows what gear it should be in. This car overall is smooth and quiet. Interior is nice with real wood accents, full leather, soft touch materials, sun roof, dual zone climate, rear climate, front and back heated seats, memory seats, EXCELLENT Bose stereo, all windows do auto up and down, controls on steering wheel, lots of adjustable settings in computer, back-up sensor shows three lights for distance to object, just to list a few. Oh yea, and my favorite is that you never have to take the key out of your pocket. Walk up to car and doors unlock and seats, mirrors, radio, and climate control all adjust to your personal settings. When key 2 is used (wife), then car adjusts to her settings, nice! Then when you get in, just push the button on dash and car starts! No key needed. Also you can start the car with your remote and have the car cooled or warmed before you get inside. Downsides are but a few... I only average about 17mpg. Steering could be a little more sensitive. Setting preferences in the computer is harder than it needs to be. Part of the center console is hard plastic, not soft touch. Overall I'd recommend this car, an excellent value used and the only American car comparable to BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, and Infinity in my opinion.

Luxury Automobile Great Value

Having owned Cadillacs in the past, it was my preference. This particular (STS 06) year and model turned out to be outstanding. I bought the car in July of 09, waited till now to give my review so that I would have ample time to see how it handled in all types of conditions. This past weekend I was in Newport News VA when the most recent snow storm hit ( 1/29-30/10). I drove back on the unplowed interstates in conditions like I've never driven in before. This car does not have 4 wheel drive, but with Vogue Tyres and the traction and system stabalizer systems, it handled great. I was both surprised and impressed. This STS has 8 cylinders, and in good road conditions is fun to drive. Amazing power and acceleration. The Bose sound system adds to the pleasure. Heated seats and steering wheel, not needed but a real treat, something you'll miss if you don't have it in your next car. For the money, it is quite the value play for a luxury automobile, yet it handles almost like a sports car.
