Customer Review Summary for Chevrolet Avalanche 1500
2011 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500Lee Hill - Fort Worth, TX12/05/2015
Flexibility...I can haul, landscaping, drywall, sports equipment and kids. Tough interior and mid gate and removable bed panels are the key to its function. When mid gate is down an 8'-0" long object can be hauled totally enclosed. A 10'-0" long object can be hauled with tail gate down. It spite of any cons this vehicle is the most useful of anything we've ever owned.
Excellent truck that fits my needs
2009 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500Greg HB - Springfield, VA11/11/2015
My truck has already proven useful for projects at home, be it fitting 4' x 8' sheets of plywood in the back w/the mid-gate down. Or, be it filling the bed up with mulch at the recycling center.
The truck is also extremely comfortable for a daily commute and long trips. So far, our longest trip was from the DC Area to Myrtle Beach. The truck has no problems with the Appalachians when heading back to Pburgh.
Daily driving on 95 / 495 is not an issue; keeps up with traffic. Ride height is excellent to see what's up ahead.
Family friendly. We fit 3 of my 10 y/o son's friends in the back seat with room to spare.
My LTZ Avalance
2007 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500Marmax - Houston, Texas01/11/2011
Overall the vehicle has been what I hoped for. Its black with chrome and black leather with Bose sound system, Nav and rear view camera. I'm really enjoying the key fob starting feature so I don't have to go into the cold to start it. When I get in the LTZ is already warm inside. It has a smooth ride, a great feel and my wife trys driving it more than her own car. Its a 5 passenger SUV with the bed of a truck for hauling or towing. The 5.3L engine doesn't give it a lot of horse power but then it would use more gas.....
My overall rating is a 5, but it does have some draw backs. 1) Its an SUV and therefore pay more for insurance then a truck. 2) The engine switches from V4 to V8 for better gas miles, but barely manages to give me 14.9 mpg city and 18.9 mpg hwy.
3) The dash lights during the day are almost invisable. 4) With gas at $3 it cost me $78 to fill the tank, so if gas prices are your concern don't get it, as you won't be happy.
There’s something about a car that goes vroom that can’t be beat. When you’re sitting behind the wheel of a powerful car, your heart races and your mind wanders to all the places you can go. There are plenty of used cars out there that deliver high horsepower for low prices.
