Perfect Small SUV and Cheaper Then Similar SUV's

-The car is less expensive than other small SUV's and crossovers. -The car is roomy (even the back seats are roomy). -The controls are pretty simple. -The car has plenty of extras and features. The LTZ version has a backup camera, seat warmers, leather interior, etc. -It is a perfect size if you are looking for compact but still a bit of room for things. -Engine is a bit under-powered feeling but it is peppy enough for a 4-cylinder. A bigger engine really isn't needed though. It still has enough power with a full load (did just fine up a winding road with 4 adults and groceries from Costco). -Fuel economy is pretty good. Around town we consistently get about 21 MPG where on the highway we get more like 24 MPG.

It's ok but not great

I've read reviews that just shred the captiva. Some of the complaints are legit, it is under powered and the seats are uncomfortable. I wouldn't drive it in the mountains but around town and short drives it is fun to drive. The 6 speed transmission can be annoying always shifting or down shifting but maybe I can get use to it after awhile. I wish I'd have bought a v6 Dodge Journey.
