in 200,000 miles replaced the water pump and belt and one tie rod, now finally getting new front wheel bearings and a tuneup, I use synthetic oil and do not abuse the truck, which has been on the beach surf fishing and is great in the snow, I am large 6 ft 2 inches 450 lbs and I fit it just fine, sadly I do not fit in the new model.
It is a good size truck even though it is clearly smaller than "1500" size trucks. I have found it to be a great compromise between size and ease of use. Since I live in a pretty dense urban area so it provides a lot of functionality without being difficult to maneuver around town.
Purchased the light pickup to do work around the house and hobby farming, hauling lumber, building materials for gardening and maybe picking up a few bales of straw. The 5 cylinder engine is enough to get out of its own way even with a family of four riding along. The four doors have been wonderful and the kids no longer suffer car sickness, I believe because they ride higher and can see the world around them. The quality of the cab although spacious enough for a family of four very tall people was fair at best. Lots of plastic everywhere. There is a bench in the front so you could ride six people in a pinch although be careful raising the center arm rest in the front because if you let it go it snaps back with some force emptying the contents that were stored within. Also the kids were able to remove the center cup holder attached to the center of the back seat with ease. Cargo space in side the cab is nearly zero, coming from a yaris with 7 cup holders, half a dozen glove boxes and a hatch back has made this issue painfully obvious. But the 4 doors and the ability to travel with the family far out way the lack of cargo space. You get a glove box cup holders and pouches on the backs of the seats. There is virtually no space under the seats or behind the rear seats. I loaded it up with 6 sheets of plywood and 30 2x4s and had no issues, with the tailgate down there is a little over hang but the load was easily secured. Suspension easily handled the weight. Gas millage is below advertised rates @ 14 miles per gallon around town, it may be result of carbon deposits in the throttle body I had to have it serviced the first week after buying it because it was choking out. I gave the over all rating average for what I expect in a used vehicle, some dings in the paint a door that looks to have been repaired and 80k miles on the engine. I was very disappointed at the gas mileage I feel I could get that same mileage from a v6 if not a v8.
