It's a great truck, it's American, and it's got sweet all around performance. 250hp and 25miles to the gallon on the highway, with a towing capacity of 2 tons. Show me any other American made vehicle that can compare to that? Even the foreign midsize trucks have a tough time competing with those numbers. I've driven this truck for 2 months now, put about 3k miles on it and have no complaints about anything other than the interior which really isn't that bad, it's just a tad uncomfortable on an 8 hour road trip for my 6'4'' 275lb body. and the quality of the door panels on the inside isn't that great either but they should hold up. The worst thing about the truck is the TERRIBLE factory stereo and speakers that sound like they are blown, even with the bass turned all the way down. I plan on getting a GPS/Receiver and some aftermarket speakers to replace the JUNK currently sitting in my truck. Overall though you just can not beat this well rounded and sturdy truck, it's got all the power I need and I can still parallel park it in some tight Chicago spaces. The 4 wheel high setting is perfect for gravel roads in the north woods of Wisconsin, I've gone 45mph around corners and the truck does nothing but GRIP, of course you can always take it out of 4x4 and the back end gets nice and loose for some fishtailing fun. the 4 wheel low mode is perfect for climbing wet, grassy hills, or anything steep... haven't used it much but it feels SOLID. Just like Chevy says; it's like a rock.
i think that this truck is good for a young or a older person. all most all of my friends drive one -great buy-
I have the 2012 extended cab version. the front two seat are fairly roomy ( I am 6'2" and very large frame). The pickup is great for what I bought for - light duty DYI stuff. However, it is a bit underpowered and gets about 16 mpg in mixed driving/ around 20 hwy only. The mpg is very disappointing since other larger models do equal or better.
