I was in a high impact collision with this car. All the safety features worked perfectly. The car was totaled. I walked away without a scratch! Most of the people I know (including the people at the ER) couldn't believe I was alive after they saw the damage. I would buy another one in a second.
I think that you get more for your money with the Chevy Cruz. The interior is very comfortable and the design as a whole is very appealing for me. It drives great and I think Chevrolet did fantastic, developing an economy car with somewhat luxury features. However, within a year I started having problems; fortunately, all were covered under warranty. The biggest draw back was driving through Florida, our car broke down; completely shutting off. We called Chevrolet and they arranged a tow truck to shuttle the car to the nearest dealer (for free), and they provided a rental car and taxi (potentially reimbursed). So I think if you're interested in this vehicle, just keep up the maintenance and you should be set to go!
I wouldn't not recommend the vehicle I would warn the consumer that while it is a nicer new vehicle it is a economy sedan to similar vehicles in the market, for the price range you get what you pay for. The mileage is fantastic and so far nothing has broken, however there are several noises that are uneasing to say the least, not necessarily things that make the vehicle go little things like when you roll the Windows down from the main switch you hear either an electrical snap or a cheap plastic toy click, this sound can be heard in several other connected components including the shifter, also with very little miles and almost 100% highway driving the transmission almost always hits heard in and out of 2nd gear. Been contacted for recalls
