I love my HHR! It's comfortable, gets great gas mileage, has cargo room but is not too big. I would definitely recommend this car1

2006 Chevrolet HHRMs Gayle - Memphis, TN08/06/2009
This is a great car for someone who wants the comforts of a car but needs some of the capabilities of a mid-size truck. There is covered storage and fold down rear seats make it perfect for hauling cumbersome items.
Excellent MPG + versatililty
2006 Chevrolet HHRSunny - Ohio06/16/2008
I've test driven the 2007, but was in the price range of the 2006. The 2006 HHR gets excellent gas mileage, I get between 28-32 in the city, and 40+ on the freeway. The cargo area is more than ample and the interior height accomodates a variety of hauling. We just drove the HHR through South Dakota's Black Hills and it was a champ compared to some slower, larger vehicles hesitating to get up to Mt. Rushmore! The 2006 gets better gas mileage than the newer 07 & 08's, as compared on some sites. Not sure if it's the overall weight &/or engine size, but I am grateful nonetheless. In addition, the power seat & height adjustments provides excellent visibility. There are many 'hidden' storage compartments, including the locations for the 3 available car seat tether anchors. This is a great alternative to the less fuel efficient minivans, and provides a comfortable long distance ride with excellent handling.
