I was looking for a car to replace our station wagon, when I realized my friends had the perfect car for my needs. I needed something that would carry a wheel chair or our dogs with room to spare. I started searching the CarMax web pages because I had heard good things about the company. I found our car online and it was priced in our economic ball park. We drove to Henderson, NV. and when we drove the car for the first time, knew we made the correct decision. The steering is accurate (no loose feeling). The seats are very comfortable, and the view out of the car is terrific with no A or B pillar interference. This model has a very good sound system, and comes with Onstar and Bluetooth phone capabilities for safe hands off communicating. The only negative is living in a desert community; I wanted to have the auto start capability like my friends have on their HHR. I made the error of assuming it was featured on all HHR's. It not only didn't have it installed, but I was advised by a Chevrolet dealership parts employee that there was no after market kit for this vehicle. He said it had to be installed at the time the car was built. So make sure you ask about it prior to settling on a car, if it is important to you. The HHR has a 4 cylinder engine which concerned me until I hit the gas to pass a car and was very pleased at the response. We have owned the car for two months and I actually look forward to driving it every day I go someplace. You can't go wrong with the HHR, but you better hurry as I heard Chevy was going to stop making this model.
it gets great mileage, if driven carefully much better than it is rated. it is fairly quiet, and versatile (wagon with 4 doors, lots of back seat room), and good safety features. But it carries less cargo than it would seem (significantly less useful cargo area than my wife's RAV4; HHR cargo area is long, skinny, and not as tall), and forward visibility is fairly bad (due to a huge onstar mirror and thick A pillars, plus a high belt line and small windshield). It is a good value overall, but the visibility is an issue that is hard to fix. Seats are just ok after awhile. Handling, power, mileage, safety, and versatility are the plusses. Mine has excellent build quality. Decent car for the price.
This car has several issue for 30.000 miles in a few day I will be taking to car to check the fan motor to the ac,when arrived the bumper was cracked and had missing parts.
