It is a very functional vehicle with SS flair, economical on fuel but with the Turbo has Great power. It has plenty of room to haul pets, a couple of children or it can carry camping gear beach stuff or just stuff. A luxury car it is not.
I purchased my HHR because it was the only option for me at the time that would be closer to the features of a SUV. I do not like my HHR's car cup holders. They are VERY inconvient. The trunk is what i love the most...it has pleanty of space. The seats are easy to mess up which I hate very much. But, overall it is a car and I needed one and the HHR is a comfortable one to choose, however so far it is bad on gas!!!
I have own my 2008 HHR SS automatic almost two years and unlike the one person claims, I have never seen any oil spots from the HHR. The only problem I have had with it is the tire monitor on the driver's side front does not work at times. I use the HHR mostly for going to/from work, therefore I only get about 23 mpg (which is far better than the 13 mpg the Tahoe it replaced got) on the highway it gets over 30. If I am doing 20 mph and step on it the wheels will spin, which I would expect on a light vehicle with over 250 HP. For the price, it is a great compromise between HP and MPG. My SS has been better than I expected. It is quick, but well mannered, not the brute force that my Mustang GT is. Take a SS for test drive and I am sure you will agree that the 2.0 Turbo has the power it needs along good gas mileage.
