Transmission: Automatic Color: Gray Avg. Vehicle Review: 4.5 (40 reviews) "This '08 HHR came with an aftermarket "woodie" panelling package that enhanced the retro look of the car. The 2.2 litre engine gives adequate acceleration and also gets almost 27mpg in city driving. On the highway, we've seen 33 mpg at a steady 75 mph! The woody is not heavy and does buffet in hard, gusty wind. The climate control is effective and all manual. We think it should be without any automated gliches. The car came with remote start and we've started appreciating that on these frigid mornings. As far as handling goes it is "okay". It has electric steering (I have no idea how that works)and is too light for my taste--you can spin the wheel with one finger. (My other car is a G35 with sport package.) ON the plus side, it is very responsive and easy for my wife to handle in sensible driving. We're happy with it and its' capabilities for hauling odd shaped items in the cargo area. We'd buy another one."

Transmission: Automatic Color: Orange Avg. Vehicle Review: 4.5 (40 reviews) "What a great surprise!! The HHR was not my first choice when I started looking at buying a car. But, I had a friend that had purchased one and she suggested that I might at least take one for a spin...what did I have to lose? Wow...was she right. The interior is a very pleasant surprise. My husband and I are not small people and we have plenty of room in the HHR. Not only that, but there is actually room in the back seat to sit 2 normal or 3 small people comfortably, quite a change from our last vehicle. For those of us that like to sit a little higher, this car fits the bill. Some of the interior features take a little getting used to: this model has the beverage holders in a kind of akward spot and the controls for the windows are on the center console, not on the door. The handling is a little on the sloppy side but certainly nothing that would be of concern. I took it on road trip recently, set the cruise control and enjoyed a great ride as well as 30 mph! It is a little light in the snow but with the addition of some weight in the back end, it manages just fine. All in all, I am very happy with my purchse and would recommend the Chevy HHR to anyone looking for a comfortable ride, good fuel economy and some fun in a new car!!"

the HHR rules, period

2008 Chevrolet HHR lefthandedrighty - chicago 05/27/2009

ive had my 2008 HHR for about a month now, and i couldnt be happier with it. the gas mileage is excellent. the car drives very nice, much nicer then your average 'economy' car. i feel i got excellent bang for my buck. i needed something that could carry a bunch of tools and cargo, was good on gas, and could carry 4 passengers if i needed it too. this is the car. i think i selected the perfect car for my needs. if those are your needs, and youre thinking about the HHR, go for it.
