2006 Chevrolet ImpalaCar Nut - Chicago, IL07/28/2010
A used 2006 Chevy Impala (buy one used - they fall in value after 2 years!) is the BEST car on the market if you are looking for a sedan to comfortably seat 5 adults. It is loaded with conveniences (cruise, split front seat, keyless entry and remote start, dual-zone comfort, 8-way power driver seat) but blows other cars this size away when it comes to power and speed, smoothness, and just plain ol' great looks. Why do you think undercover police use this model? :)
I've only had to perform maintenance on my Impala (oil, tires, brakes), which I've owned for 2 years now and she's running like a top with superb handling (although a little sway in tight, fast turns).
My gas mileage (V6, 3.9L engine) is about 24 city, 28 highway (on cruise control). And that's with a full load and the AC running full blast.
I love this car!
If you can pick one up for less than $10,000 with less than 50,000 miles, DO IT!

I just recently bought a used 06 Chevy Impala and I must say that I am very impressed with this car. The gas mileage is fantastic, the drive is quiet as a mouse, but with a crazy fast get-up-and-go--It easily and very quickly goes from 0-60 in no time flat. Very comfortable interior and loaded with options. This was only my second car and I can honestly say it totally convinced me that American is better by far!

Did my research and Impala is a reliable car. Roomy enough for five-six people. Getting great gas mileage - 20+ mpg. Love the remote start!
Chevrolet is perhaps best-known for three vehicles: the Chevrolet Suburban, the Chevrolet Corvette, and the Chevrolet Impala. The Impala is the third-oldest active model in Chevy’s portfolio, and after 10 generations the Impala still stands out with a unique combination of size, style, and luxury. Here are our favorite 10 reasons to buy a used Chevrolet Impala.
These days, car buyers who want an affordable luxury family sedan can choose from plenty of options. If you’re looking for a used car that emphasizes traditional luxury offerings in a big package, then you might want to consider a used Chrysler 300. But if you want a full-sized sedan with sportier intentions, then a used Chevrolet Impala could be your go-to choice. These two all-American car manufacturers have battled for market supremacy since the 1950s, and nearly seven decades later, they each still give shoppers options for a distinct taste of affordable mid-grade luxury—especially with the new 2016 Chrysler 300 and 2016 Chevrolet Impala.
The best crossover SUVs combine the spaciousness of a standard SUV with the nimble handling and comfort of your favorite sedan. Whether you're searching for a compact, midsize, or larger vehicle in the SUV market, a crossover provides lots of options.
