I have a 2004 Impala with the 3.4 engine. It was a lease return with 11K miles when I bought it. I've owned it for almost a year now and haven't had any problems at all. It averages 26-28 mpg and on a trip gets 30-33 mpg. Lots of room and comfortable on long trips. Has a nice ride and handles well in the cruves too. Can't say anything bad about this car.
Great car, average price point

Great options, the SS is loaded including a 5.3 LS4 V8 giving the Impala better performace power. With the larger engine city gas mileage is less (15 mpg) than the standard V6 but highway mileage is reasonable at 25 mpg. Comfortable ride, roomy, and fun to drive.

This is quite simply the best car I have ever owned or driven. It is loaded with great features - leather heated seats, user friendly sound system and controls - just to mention a few - and has lots of power with a 6 cylinder, 305 hp engine. And the mpg is pretty decent. I can routinely get up to 35 mpg on the freeway. I love everything about this car!
Chevrolet is perhaps best-known for three vehicles: the Chevrolet Suburban, the Chevrolet Corvette, and the Chevrolet Impala. The Impala is the third-oldest active model in Chevy’s portfolio, and after 10 generations the Impala still stands out with a unique combination of size, style, and luxury. Here are our favorite 10 reasons to buy a used Chevrolet Impala.
These days, car buyers who want an affordable luxury family sedan can choose from plenty of options. If you’re looking for a used car that emphasizes traditional luxury offerings in a big package, then you might want to consider a used Chrysler 300. But if you want a full-sized sedan with sportier intentions, then a used Chevrolet Impala could be your go-to choice. These two all-American car manufacturers have battled for market supremacy since the 1950s, and nearly seven decades later, they each still give shoppers options for a distinct taste of affordable mid-grade luxury—especially with the new 2016 Chrysler 300 and 2016 Chevrolet Impala.
