I have had compacts for the last several years and have really enjoyed the room and comfort of the Malibu. It rides like a more expensive car. I have the sunroof which is fun in the spring and fall. We get pretty good mileage around town and good mileage on the freeway.
Awesome Car! GM's Back!
2008 Chevrolet MalibuChevy Guy - Chicago, IL12/11/2008
Finally! GM has REALLY gotten it right with the new Malibu. This car rocks, with top quality materials, ergonomics, and a ride that blends luxury with a sports car feel. The best news of all? It delivers a great experience at an unbelievable price, about 15 thousand less than a Mercedes C300, or BMW 328. Those are great cars, but 15 G's is 15 G's, ya' know? The looks of this car are stunning from every angle. It stands out in traffic. This is no commuter cube. The interior is modern and gorgeous. Bottom line, you will LOVE this car.
2008 Malibu LT2
2008 Chevrolet MalibuElbow - Detroit, MI10/07/2008
I've had this car for 3 months now. I have the V6 with leather & most all of the options. Although it is a nice car, I've been disappointed with it. The steering is very tight, a plus for some people, not for me. Gas mileage is decent; I average 21 mpg, but not nearly as good as I expected, coming from a V8 that averaged 17 mpg. Pick-up is decent but sometimes unpredictable, which makes passing/merging on the freeway irritating. Overall, it's a good car, but I definitely regret getting rid of my V8 Pontiac.
