Good buy
If you are in the market for a fully loaded 1/2 ton truck and NEED TOWING/CARGO this one is worth considering, for several reasons. For starter, you are getting a Duramax/Allison transmission package for essentially free. Dollar for Dollar always take the bigger truck, IF YOU CAN, you are going to wish you did later on. For any 1/2 ton trucks to get somewhat near a diesels performance you will have to always opt for the biggest engine and axle ratio which negates the fuel argument. Diesels will hold their value better than gasoline trucks, don't ask me why, research it, and this one burns clean without any 2011 EPA additives. Lastly, ask your self why there is such a disproportionate amount of Dodges and Fords up for grab especially late models year vs. Chevy's or GMC's. Bought this same truck in May '09 as a 2008 model with only a Z71 package beign the difference. Without any mods, I am able to average around 16.5-17 mpg in mix city driving and around 20.5-21mpg highway driving at 70 mph. The trick is to keep the rpms below 1900 and this truck will do well on mpg. The worst I have seen is 11.5-12mpg with a 7000lb boat in tow. Ohh one last thing, if parked outside in HOT climates, you WILL love the remote start it cranks the A/C full cold before you drive off.
My Truck
I lov my truck and am enjoying it. I bought this truck to celabrate my retirement, it is something I have wanted but could not see the cost as I raised my family.
