The car was very clean when I got it and has run great since. I love the Tahoe in general so it was a good fit.
I would recommend this car for anyone with kids or without. You have the large interior space as well as the luxurious seats . You also have the indash and t.v in the back and Sirius XM radio. If you like big cars you will love this one.
I truly in enjoy my car! I have long since appreciated GMC products. I feel the comfort in my vehicle, the craftmanship and the quality.
The Chevrolet Tahoe was first unveiled as the Chevy Blazer back in 1992. In 1995, Chevy added a four-door version (prior models were exclusively two-door vehicles) and rebranded the Blazer as the Chevy Tahoe. Today, the Tahoe is in its fourth generation of production, with the 2008 Chevy Tahoe falling into the model's third generation. In 2008, the Tahoe sold more than 91,000 vehicles in the United States alone, which made it one of the most popular SUVs in its class.
Compared to prior model years, such as the 2006 and 2007 Tahoe, the 2008 Chevy Tahoe saw a few changes. However, considering the Tahoe saw a complete redesign for 2007, there weren't many huge changes made to this model year. Some of the most notable changes for this model year included:
In terms of trim options, the 2008 Tahoe has two primary trim levels: the LS and the LT. The LT, however, was manufactured in three different packages: the LT2, LT3, and LTZ.
One of the most impressive aspects of the 2008 Chevy Tahoe was its powerful engine, which lent it to surprisingly quick acceleration - especially for a full-sized SUV. Despite its louder exhaust, drivers also enjoy the smooth ride that comes along with this model year of the Tahoe, thanks to its suspension. Due to its larger size and design, however, its handling does suffer a bit despite its 39-foot turning circle. Still, city-goers who are considering the purchase of a full-sized SUV will likely find that this is one of the most nimble vehicles in its class.
The 2008 Chevy Tahoe had many competitors in its class when it was released, though it has retained its value quite well for a large SUV. Still, those considering a used 2008 Chevy Tahoe should carefully consider their needs and budget when determining whether this is the best option for them. Specifically, competitors like the GMC Yukon and the GMC Acadia may provide a better solution for those looking to maximize seating and cargo space. The Saturn Outlook and Mazda CX-9 are also alternative options worth considering that provide greater fuel economy than the Tahoe, though will likely cost a bit more out-the-door. The Ford Explorer is also an admirable competitor, offering a fold-flat third-row seat and better handling - although the Tahoe's interior is a lot more luxurious.
The 2008 Tahoe was recently redesigned with aerodynamics and performance in mind. Specifically, the height of the vehicle off the road was lowered to create better air flow and improve handling, especially when compared to larger options like the Chevy Suburban. All trim levels of the 2008 Tahoe are also equipped with four-speed automatic transmission, as well as the buyer's choice of two-wheel rear drive or four-wheel drive.
Some other performance features worth noting on the 2008 Tahoe include:
A 4.8-liter V8 engine with 295 horsepower and 305 lb/ft of torque is standard on the 2008 Chevy Tahoe LS. However, those who opt for the upgraded LT trim will enjoy a more powerful 5.3-liter V8 at 320 horsepower and an impressive 340 lb/ft of torque. It's also worth noting that for 2008, the fuel economy for this vehicle was higher than average among other cars in its class. This is due to the fact that all engine options on the 2008 Tahoe were equipped with cylinder deactivation, which actually turns off cylinder when they aren't needed for full power as a means of cutting back on fuel usage. This was pretty advanced technology for its time, making the 2008 Tahoe one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs of its model year.
The 2007 redesign of the Chevy Tahoe led to significant changes in body styling, which can be seen in the 2008 release. The main change was the lower profile and more aerodynamic design of the vehicle itself. Still, it has a bit of a boxy design with a steep-angled windshield and large headlights. For the 2008 model year, Chevy also added two color options to the Tahoe: a deep blue and one called "Ruby Metallic."
