This car is great, we got an AWD. It handles the mountain with ease, and we take it to the beach on other days. Great family vehicle.

I was SOOOO excited to get my Traverse - even though it cost a little more than we budgeted for. I love the look, the color, the roominess, and other great features -- and was expecting to love it based on the reviews that I read. My disappointment came after I'd been driving it for about a week. Gas mileage is less than acceptable (barely 16 mpg). I guess the car is too heavy for itself (6 cylinders, 2wd), whatever the case it peels out when trying to accelerate quickly.
I am not an avid car buyer, and this is my first "big" car (3rd row seating), also my first time without 4wd, so maybe I just didn't know what to expect.
Tons of space, great SUV

I previously owned a Honda Pilot and a Honda Odyssey, so I was used to a lot of space and a quality vehicle. I decided to give the Chevy Traverse LT a chance because of its very good review from Consumer Reports. I am very happy with this crossover and am so pleased with this choice. I thought I would have to get an Expedition or Sequoia to get the space we needed, but this truck has lots of cargo space and the second row seats (I have quad seats) are very roomy. The best part is it has a 6 cyl so I don't have to pay at the gas pump for a thirsty 8 cyl. The only issue with the Traverse is a common problem of the steering gear that needs to be replaced in most vehicles. We have all wheel drive for the trips to snow country in the winter. I would definitely recommend the Traverse. It is a solid and good performer with a comfortable interior that has great cargo space.
Many drivers who want a best crossover seek out one of the popular vehicles on this list. Why the big deal about a crossover SUV? It’s the solid mix of roomy interior and a smaller size that fits in plenty of parking spaces.
