2010 Traverse LT1

Do to age-related physical difficulties, I decided it was time for a new vehicle. I traded in my '05 Silverado 4WD Crewcab pickup for this "SUV", actually more like a minivan on steroids. First, it was easier to get into and out of than my pickup. It is an All Wheel Drive (AWD), so I felt confident about the occassional snowstorms we can run into here in New Mexico. Third, it has LOTS of room, and with the 2nd and 3rd row seats folded down, I can carry most things that would fit in my pickup. The first thing I REALLY like about the Traverse is a smooooth, quiet ride. VERY comfortable!! We recently made a trip to California, and the Traverse can just eat up the miles. I was hoping for slightly better MPG, but at Interstate speeds of just over 75, I got an average of a little over 21 mpg. In town mileage is not so hot, often in the 14-16 mpg range. While visiting our kids and grandkids in California, we were able to fit the whole crew in the Traverse - all 7 of us could go out to dinner, etc. in one vehicle - nice!! This was a former rental vehicle, and had less that 8K miles when purchased. Because it was a former rental/fleet vehicle, it was not equiped with a couple of standard features I would have liked, Bluetooth phone function being one (no OnStar) and XM satellite radio (I would/will convert to Sirius) the other. It does have backup sensors, but with a vehicle this size, a back-up camera would also be nice. All in all, I'm VERY happy with my new ride!!

Great job Chevy

I am so happy with the purchase of my vehicle. Its very spacious, easy to get my 2 yr old in and out of his full size carseat without having to bend down and strap him in. Cupholders everywhere and storage compartments great for all your needs. I fit my Baby Trend 3 wheel jogging stroller in the back without a struggle with the 3rd row seat fully upright. The bluetooth feature makes answering the phone simple & easy with just the push of the button on the steering wheel. I drove a 04 Hyundai Santa Fe that I loved! But I didnt realize how limited the space was and how outdated technology was until now. This car has get up and go, but still feels nice heavy and substantial. But yet its easy to park and move around in a jiff without being too large. I fit 2 carseats and two 10 yr old kids, and 2 adults over the weekend without anyone being overcrowded. Its the perfect fit for someone like me who wants the room and the comfort of great design but does not want to go too big like the Tahoe or settle for a mini-van to fit mulitple passengers. Another great plus is the sliding middle row seat to give middle and back passengers extra leg room. Great job Chevy!!!!!!

Comfortable, functional vehicle

The Chevy Traverse is the ideal crossover vehicle. It has just enough off-road capability for any reasonable use, yet rides like a luxury vehicle and has all of those great bells and whistles to keep the family happy (especially the toddler in the back seat). It was especially handy on a recent camping trip, when heavy rains forced our family into the Traverse for the first night. We watched a movie and then spread out the blankets and pillows for sleeping and were very comfortable. My only knock is the engine. It's perfectly fine, but at times seems a bit undersized for the car. I guess that's just the price we pay for better mileage. In sum, this is the more affordable version of the Enclave--just as much comfort, convenience, and performance without having to hold your breath when you take it up a gravel road or get some mud on the floor mats.
