Reviews for 2011 Chevrolet Traverse
2011 Chevy Traverse
Pros: Space Stylish All Wheel Drive Cons: Uncomfortable Driver's Seat Gas Mileage I am a weekend DJ. Because of that, I needed a large vehicle to haul my gear. My previous vehicle was a mini van, so I needed a vehicle with about the same amount of space. The Traverse is the largest SUV in it's class and holds all of my gear perfectly. My only complaint about this vehicle is the driver's seat. The lumbar support seems touch the wrong section of my back (even with the lumbar support disabled). I've played with the lumbar support lever, as well as the other seat adjustments without any success. In the end, I love this vehicle and would recommend it to a friend.
Good buy, love it!!
I went from a Camry to the Traverse once we found out we'd be having a third child. Had to get one model year older in order to afford the extras, because the standard edition really doesn't have great features and had a "cheap" looking interior. However, we got the LT AWD edition with leather interior. The seats are super comfy with seat heaters when it's cold, or my pregnant back starts to ache. The bluetooth is convenient and the back up camera is awesome. It also has the auto open/close back door which is great for full hands and groceries. My friend warned of the limited cargo space, but I find it had plenty of room for our neeeds. I would recommend this car to the growing family. My kids love it and so does my husband (which is hard to do).
Traverse for the Mrs.
My wife and I were shopping for an SUV because she grew tired of minivans. She saw a traverse and fell in love. She likes being up off the pavement higher than the van and likes the third row seat. She also likes how the seats in the rear and middle fold forward flat for hauling large items. Me being mechanically minded had questions about the traverse's 3.6L engine. I found some reports of the timing chain jumping out of time. I researched and talked to 3 or 4 mechanics. Two who work for a Chevrolet dealer. They told me that changing the oil regularly (about 4 to 5k miles on full synthetic which is what the manual calls for) will keep the chain running smooth. Fuel mileage is good at about 22 on the interstate. Ride is comfortable.
