Transmission: Automatic Color:Gold Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.125 reviews) We bought this car shortly after our twins were born when we realized we couldn't fit us + the dog + the stroller all in a sedan. We bought the Traverse thinking that we would eventually be using the third row regularly. With the third row up, there's barely room for our double stroller and definitely not room for anything else. We keep the third row down and only use it on occasion when we have friends and family staying with us. With the third row down, we have plenty of space for everything we need to carry. It's easy to install car seats in most positions in the car (though our car seats won't fit in the outer seats in the third row) and the ride is comfortable, even for our 4+ hour drives we've been making.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Silver Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.391 reviews) This car has been the worst vehicle I've ever owned. I've had to have it towed multiple times because of engine issues, fluid leaking etc.. Currently the vehicle is being worked on to repair the same engine issues it had a year and a half ago. There are MULTIPLE known issues with the 2009 Traverse with there being a GM warranty in place to cover those issues even though the car is so old. Luckily I got the extended warranty when I purchased the vehicle and that has covered non known issues but I've still had to pay a $100 deductible each time. Est. the warranty company has paid more than $10k in repairs on this car since 2015. The 09 GMC Acadia is the sister of the Traverse and has the same issues. I would avoid this car like the plague.

Comfortable, functional vehicle

The Chevy Traverse is the ideal crossover vehicle. It has just enough off-road capability for any reasonable use, yet rides like a luxury vehicle and has all of those great bells and whistles to keep the family happy (especially the toddler in the back seat). It was especially handy on a recent camping trip, when heavy rains forced our family into the Traverse for the first night. We watched a movie and then spread out the blankets and pillows for sleeping and were very comfortable. My only knock is the engine. It's perfectly fine, but at times seems a bit undersized for the car. I guess that's just the price we pay for better mileage. In sum, this is the more affordable version of the Enclave--just as much comfort, convenience, and performance without having to hold your breath when you take it up a gravel road or get some mud on the floor mats.
