2006 Chevy Uplander

2006 Chevrolet Uplander greeneyelady50 - Texas 06/07/2012

I bought this vehicle in 2006. Loved it from the start. Roomy, grandkids loved the DVD player. Great vehicle. When the problems started they kept going. Replaced outer tie rods 4 times. Alternator once, battery once, noise constantly in the steering column that even though it wasn't supposed to be greased had the mechanics do it anyway. It helped cut the noise down after they had to replace the steering shaft. When it rained the clunking sound underneath was horrible. After 2-3 days of no rain and drying out the sound would die down. Transmission going out at 174,000 miles. My previous van (Ford) lasted into the 280,000 range. When I traded it in this year (2011) they don't make this vehicle anymore. I loved this van even though I had all the problems with it. Didn't have great pick up in the city but was awesome on the highway. High priced repairs too. Up to you whether its worth getting a used one or not. I didn't have automatic doors but from online vehicle issue report I got these are a problem, as well as the lights, and numerous other issues. Think that must be why they quit making it. This would have been an awesome van to continue making and repair the major issues. I could move my whole house in it almost which I did a couple times. Too bad the mechanical part of it was the worst.

My Uplander

2005 Chevrolet Uplander Tiggeroony - Glendora, CA 06/10/2009

When choosing this car, I had first chosen another that did not end up having rear air. I thought it was crazy to not have rear air in a minivan. but the Uplander does as well as rear air controls. My new car also has a DVD player and CD changer which my children love. We have already used our Uplander to move and to go camping. Such Space!! The only thing I am not happy about is the tint is pealing, tho it looks like it was custom not standard.

Great for a big family

2008 Chevrolet Uplander Tall Family Mom - North Carolina 03/24/2009

My family is really limited on vehicles we can fit in as my husband is 6'9" and I'm 5'11" and we have four growing kids. It had to be a minivan because we wanted good gas mileage. Vehicles featuring a third row seat that was smaller and you had to keep folding down a seat to get to just wasn't practical with teenagers. We got the Uplander and love it. It was amazing price for the value. It has a good engine and smooth drive. We all fit nicely- lots of head room. The captains chairs are great for separating siblings who need a break! The seats fold down easily for larger items.
