The car is awesome. To bad they stopped making them. I was lucky to find this one with all the bells & whistles. My wife always liked these and I took it for a test drive. The power and pep was good, good handling, and feels very secure on the street. Not like those tin cans nowadays. Also the safety rating is very high. I have kids so I needed room, performance, and safety, plus a third row. The middle row seats adjust and plenty of leg room in the third row. The gas rating is a little low but it is a heavy car. I haven't taken it on a long trip to get a good idea of overall gas performance. I did do my research before choosing which was good as things change and/or upgrade year to year, for better and worse. Also, the car is very easy for my wife to drive which was another Pro in choosing.I didn't want a minivan or a huge Escalade or similar. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it.
I purchased my 2005 model based on the safety and comfort of the vehicle. Sadly, it has been in the shop on average 4 times a year since I have owned it for the engine stalling in traffic when turning, braking sensors on the rear going out 3 times, excessive play in the drive train causing what felt like the transmission sliiping, not to mention the plastic housing surrounding the front seats being replaced because they break for no reason. I think the car looks great and does great on road trips, but I don't like the fac that when the warranty runs out I will be in serious trouble when it comes time for more repairs. Needless to say, I will be looking for a replacement come New Year. I wish I had asked more people at the gas station or more blogs before I made the leap based only on crash test ratings and amenities.
The Pacifica is an excellent car for the money!! The standard features go above and beyond what you would expect. The ride is smooth, the handling is great, and it looks a million times better than the minivan I traded in for it! ( I did need to practice parking it, but it takes no time to get a feel for how much clearance you have on the front end) You must test drive it, you'll be hooked as soon as you step on the gas!!
