Happy with my PT Cruiser
I needed to replace my 18 year old/200,000mi Chevy, and I was looking for something affordable that got decent gas mileage. The PT wasn't my first choice, but it did keep coming up when searching for cars in my price range. I specifically wanted a manual transmission, as I knew it would boost my gas mileage slightly. So far, I am very happy with the PT I bought. It had low mileage, is in top shape, and was also covered with a factory warranty. The manual shift is more fun to drive than an automatic, and the retro styling seems to set it apart from the other gas-sippers out there on the road. I was worried it might be a bit underpowered after reading some other reviews before test driving. I was coming out of a big V6, so I knew I'd have to adjust. However, with the 5 speed, I am able to jump right into 60+mph traffic by shifting quickly. I was also pleasantly surprised with how roomy it is on the inside. There is a lot of headroom for taller folks. Cons: The seats are a little stiff, and I don't know that I'd enjoy a 200mi+ drive in it. The seat fabric also seems to show water/liquid stains pretty easily. It would be a good idea to invest in a can of ScotchGuard before you spill something in the car. Even with the cons, I think I got a great car for my money.
I had never heard of the 'Platinum' edition prior to purchasing this car. The little 'extras' make it perfect for me. I fell in love with the '300' the very first time I saw one on the road back in 2005. Have had three and the Platinum edition is by far the best.
Pacifica is a GREAT Vehicle!!
I love my Pacifica. It has a low, car like feel, and style, and smooth ride. But it is big and roomy, and able to hitch or haul what you need to. I have carried kids, furniture, trash, wheelchair, boxes, and storage buckets...whatever I needed to. And, it looks so SHARP! The body is very stylish and the interior is so comfortable, and sleek looking. I do wish the carriage was a bit higher. You have to be slow and careful over traffic speed bumps, because you can easy scrape the bottom. And steep hills that have no slope transition onto the road...turn onto it at an angle to avoid scraping under the front bumper. BUT, even with all that, she is tough! Ive scraped mine so much unintentionally, but she keeps booking. Engine is sound and got great UMPH! The transmission needs to be well maintained to keep her happy but it's worth it. Just get your fluids changed, keep oil and filters clean, keep transmission fluid fresh, and add additive to your gas. Keep your tires rotated and balanced and she will be a CHAMP for you!
