All my life I have dreamed about a convertible. Drove a rental Sebring in1990 and fell in love. I bought a 2008 Sebring 2 1/2 years ago. Loved it every day. I am tall, with a bad neck but am very comfortable on long drives. Minimal leg room in the backseat if the front seats are all the way back. Loved the automatic ignition and automatic top. When the top is up and the trunk separator was folded up...lots of trunk room. A couple cons..., the car would occasionally die when I came to a stop for no reason. Don't accidently pull on the yellow emergency release for the trunk lid or the convertible top might get stuck halfway up or down. It this happens, just manually push the plastic safety lever back in and it works fine. If you are short, the trunk lid might be too high and too heavy to easily close (due to the hydralics). There is no strap or latch or handhold to pull or grip. Last week I was rear ended and hit hard and pushed into another car. The car was totaled but there was no interior damage and I was fine! I am looking for another car and am definately considering another Sebring!
I was very impressed with the Chrysler Sebring. When I first got into the car I felt like I was in an expensive luxury car. It has a ton of head room and leg room for everyone including the backseat passengers. The backseat is perfect fit for my daughter's car seat plus two adults. Drives great, looks sporty, rides luxury and I get so many compliments on the color and style! Excellent car in my book.
Originally, I wanted a retractable hard-top BMW 3 series... But in reality, I couldn't spend that much money on a car. So the convertible Chrysler Seabring was my second choice. I've liked the Seabring for a very long time and it seems that every year, it just gets better looking. Well, the 2008 convertible is the best so far! The interior leather is sleek and stylish, the exterior dark gray color is unique and fabulous! I love driving around town with the top down... Oh, yes, when the top is down, the cover for it makes the car look very sleek. The driving performance is great, it's got some get-up-and-go and rides very smoothly. The backseat is not made for NBA players, but normal-sized adults can ride rather comfortably. Trunk size is smallish when cover protector is inside, but if you take it out during winter months, it's very large. All the bells and whistles, thoughtful engineering for the interior, and reliable Chrysler mechanics make the Seabring worth every dime! And I still have money left-over for other fun stuff!
